How Do Photoluminescent Signs Work?
Originally, photoluminescent (PL) signs used copper-activated zinc sulfide. Today’s products use a phosphorescent chemical, strontium aluminate oxide, which is 10 times brighter and lasts 10 times longer than zinc sulfide products. Photoluminescent signs are now considered the best component of effective egress systems.
